Today, Pure's entire charitable focus is in support of the CNCF Sunshine Village in Ulaanbaatar , Mongolia. Pure's deep links with this beautiful and unspoilt region from which we source the world's finest cashmere makes the CNCF Mongolia, and specifically The Sunshine Village, a natural conduit for all our charitable efforts. We very much hope that we, along with the support of our suppliers and our customers, can help to give some of the under-privileged children of Ulaanbaatar a better start in life than they would otherwise have without the terrific work that CNCF do there.

Christina Noble grew up in the slums of Dublin in the 1950's. From first hand experience, Christina understands a childhood of pain and betrayal, as well as loneliness and suffering caused by living on the streets. After the early death of her mother, she lived in an orphanage until the age of 16, when she was forced to live in the streets. In the years to come she developed a vision to help street children, first working amongst the street children Vietnam and then in 1990 in Mongolia. Here high levels of poverty and poor health care resulted in many thousands of sick and destitute street children.

The Sunshine Village provides a safe and loving home for approximately 60 street children and orphans in Ulaanbaatar. The shelter consists of ten residential gers (the traditional felt tent of the Mongolian peoples). Each ger is staffed by a Ger Mother, who creates a loving home for the children. They are enrolled at the local district school: learning within the community and gaining vital qualifications for later adult life. Children below school age attend the Foundation's kindergarten, constructed in 2002. CNCF doctors visit several times per week, and a team of Managers are constantly on-hand to advise and encourage the children. There are monthly outings, occasions of great excitement and joy. Wherever possible the Foundation seeks to reunite children with their families and assist the family face the future together through mutual love and support.
